The Beaumont (Relief in Need) Charity

The Beaumont (Relief in Need) Charity

This charity was originally set up by the Beaumont family of Coleorton Hall who were the Lords of Coleorton Manor for centuries. The Beaumonts, amongst other things, endowed the first Coleorton school and set up a hardship fund for needy women resident in Coleorton. Over time this has become The Beaumont (Relief in Need) Charity and it’s purpose is to help people resident in the parish of Coleorton or wider local area as the Trustees of the charity may determine who are in conditions of ‘need, hardship, or distress’. All applications for help must be considered by the Trustees who can give out grants of money to alleviate hardship with such things as payment of utility bills, travelling expenses or day to day living expenses or to help with unexpected one-off emergency expenses. The trustees have to follow some fairly strict guidelines set out in the scheme governing the charity and regulated by the Charity Commission. So, if you or anyone you know in Coleorton or surrounding district is suffering from real hardship then please contact the Trust’s secretary for an application form. All applications will be dealt with in strict confidence.
